PIPERS MEMBERS CLUB

Heat 1

Pipers opened their account on the Ultimate Karaoke circuit on 25^th February 2009 with the first heat of Pipers Pop Idol 2009 and it wasn’t a bad turnout from the customers point of view with five acts braving the roth of the judges (only joking they were lovely) to see what two acts were going through to the final on 1^st April.

The singers had to sing just one song at this point. They chose:

Craig – Bed Of Roses (Bon Jovi)

Essie – Warwick Avenue (Duffy)

George – Hallelujah (Alex Burke)

Barrie –

Emma & Tiff – Runaway (The Coors)

The judges on the night scored Craig & Tiff / Emma as the two qualifiers but well done to all the contestants on their performances.

Also a big thank-you to Susie, Ben, Mick and Martin for doing the judging on the evening.

Heat 2

Heat 2 was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Heat 3

Heat three was a quiet affair unfortunately with only three contestants taking part. Because there was only three, we decided to put all the contestants through to the final. The contestants songs were:

Claire – Piece Of My Heart (Beverly Knight)

George – Delilah (Tom Jones)

Essie – Somewhere Over The Rainbow (Eva Cassidy)

Heat 4

The final heat for this competition raised five entrants for the last chance to qualify. With three acts going through on the night it was up to the acts to raise the stakes in their performance and believe me they did it.

Again they were marked on Presentation, Vocal Talent and Star Quality and congratulations must go out to Barry, Tina & Kelly on qualifying.

The final takes place on 1^st April. Keep checking back for the final report from this event and to find out who went through to the Anglian Idol Final 2009.

Final

So the final night arrived and the nerves were certainly jangling. With start time being postponed until after the England match this certainly didn’t help. The 8 acts had chosen some very good songs between them.

After a very long night and some hard decisions by the judges they chose the top three and they are listed below as 3^rd, 2^nd and 1^st.

1^st - Craig

Well done to the top three on the night and these three will represent Pipers Members Club at Anglian Idol in November.

We must also congratulate all the finalists on making it a superb night at the club and extended thanks to all the judges from the heats and final and also to Mark and Maxine for hosting the event at Pipers Members Club.
